Anna’s story

The Insight Day at Vogue was honestly one of the best days of my life. It really opened my eyes to the range of possibilities and paths I could take to get into the creative industries. I met very inspiring people who told me about the challenges they overcame to achieve their goals; showing me that it was something I could achieve too. The people who worked there spoke to us honestly about the reality of working in the industry and that it wasn’t all glamour and required a lot of hard work. The Insight Day inspired me to study Media and Communications at university and to pursue a career in the creative industries. I left Vogue House that day thinking “I’m going to work here one day!

Then when I was at university, MyBigCareer matched me my Career Coach. It was fantastic to meet someone who really knew the industry I’d set my sights on. In our first meeting she took time to learn all about me and was so reassuring and encouraging. She then helped me consider the direction I’d like to take and picture the dream job I’d be doing in five years time. My Career Coach has also taught me that as individuals and professionals we are always developing and growing, no one is ever the finished product.
