We’d love to have you on board. You’ll be joining over 100 like-minded Career Coaches from all walks of life and backgrounds, sharing skills and experiences, giving young people encouragement and motivation.
We’ll ask you to complete a short registration form and aim to contact you within 72 hours to chat through your application.
As a minimum we ask that:
- You are passionate about social mobility and supporting young people to achieve their full potential
- You’re happy to offer 10 hours volunteering per year, typically during the school/work day
- You have a reliable internet connection and can participate in video calls
- You’re happy to attend MyBigCareer’s induction and training session
- We conduct Enhanced DBS checks for all our volunteer Coaches. To enable us to do these checks you must have been living in England or Wales for the last 3 years.
We know how precious your time is and want to make the most of every hour you give us. We’ll help you to have the best possible impact for young people and get a great volunteering experience too.
You don’t need to be career guidance guru, qualified life coach or employment expert to make a life-changing difference.
Instead we value your life experience, your energy and the insights you’ve gained from your own career journey – these are the tools you’ll need to help inspire, guide and equip young people to thrive.
As a MyBigCareer volunteer you’ll be:
- Supported, encouraged and trained by the charity’s dedicated team
- Sharing your skills, insights and expertise to help less advantaged young people
- Given lots of opportunities to volunteer and the flexibility to fit the sessions around your other commitments
- Supported to grow professionally and personally as a role model and inspirational individual
- Putting your spare time and ability to brilliant use
Before applying we also ask you to read more about being a volunteer for MyBigCareer here.
Our approach is to offer as many underrepresented young people as possible the opportunity to explore their skills, interests and aspirations with someone outside of the school and home life. That’s why we ask our volunteers to deliver short, impactful 1:1 career coaching sessions for students, but not to act as long-term mentors.
If this sounds good to you please complete the registration form (click below) as soon as you can. We’re looking forward to receiving your application.
